We started L&P Jewels with one question: why should beautiful jewelry come with a long list of rules? Don't get it wet. Take it off at the gym. Keep it away from perfume.

So we decided that wasn't good enough. We sourced jewelry crafted to last — waterproof, tarnish-resistant, and built for real life. Whether you're at the beach, the office, or out for dinner, your L&P pieces stay on.

How to Love Your Jewelry

Our pieces are built to last — but a little care goes a long way. Here's how to keep yours looking perfect.

  • Rinse with clean water after salt water or chlorine exposure
  • Pat dry with a soft cloth after swimming or bathing
  • Store in the pouch or box provided when not wearing
  • Polish gently with a soft, dry cloth to restore shine
  • Apply perfume and lotion before putting jewelry on
  • Layer freely — our pieces are designed to stack

  • Avoid harsh cleaning agents, bleach, or chemical solvents
  • Don't scrub with abrasive cloths or rough surfaces
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to very high heat
  • Don't wear in hot tubs or saunas for extended periods
  • Remove before applying sunscreen directly to skin
  • Don't store damp — moisture accelerates wear over time

A Note on Gold Plating

Even waterproof plated jewelry experiences gradual wear with heavy daily use. Proper care significantly extends the life of your pieces — rinsing off sweat, salt water and lotion makes the biggest difference, on both the gold and the silver plated line.

Orders are dispatched within 1–2 business days after payment confirmation. We ship nationwide with The Courier Guy — you can collect from a PUDO locker near you, or have it delivered to your door. Delivery takes 3–5 working days and is charged on top of your order total; we confirm the fee with you on WhatsApp before you pay. You'll receive a tracking number once your order ships — track it any time at track.thecourierguy.co.za. If you are in Cape Town you are welcome to collect from us in Retreat instead — choose that at checkout and we will arrange a time with you on WhatsApp.
Yes — we send parcels through PUDO, The Courier Guy's self-service locker network, with lockers at filling stations, malls and shopping centres across South Africa. We send your parcel to the locker you choose, you get a collection PIN by SMS, and you fetch it when it suits you — no waiting at home for a driver. It is usually cheaper than door-to-door delivery. Find your nearest locker at pudo.co.za and tell us which one suits you when we confirm your order on WhatsApp. Prefer your door? We do that too.
You place your order through WhatsApp, and we confirm stock and the final total before you pay anything. Payment is by EFT — we send you the banking details once your order is confirmed. Nothing is charged on the website itself.
Yes — our gold-plated pieces are plated on stainless steel, making them waterproof and sweat-resistant. You can shower, swim, and exercise in them. We recommend rinsing with fresh water after salt or chlorine and patting dry.
Our jewelry is tarnish-resistant, not tarnish-free. The 18k gold and 925 sterling silver plating are treated to resist fading, discoloration and everyday wear far better than standard costume jewelry — but no plated or silver piece is permanently immune to tarnish over time. Rinsing off sweat, salt water and lotion, and storing pieces in the provided pouch, will keep them looking their best for years.
All sales are final. Due to the personal nature of jewellery and strict hygiene standards, we do not accept returns or exchanges for change of mind, sizing or style — whether the item has been worn or not. If a piece arrives faulty, damaged or is not what you ordered, message us within 7 days and we will repair, replace or refund it. We encourage you to review all product details, sizing, and images carefully before placing your order. Both are stainless steel with a precious-metal layer bonded to the surface — the difference is the tone. Our gold pieces are coated with 18k gold; our silver pieces with 925 sterling silver. Neither is solid precious metal, which is exactly why they can be waterproof and still affordable. Both are hypoallergenic and tarnish-resistant, and both are cared for the same way.
